I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Toto!

Hello lovelies!
I was stuck in bed sick this weekend and got inspired to do a Wizard of Oz mani. I have not seen the new Oz movie(is it even out in theaters yet?), but the original is a favorite of mine and it was the original that inspired this!
Here you have the twister, the ruby slipper, the Yellow Brick Road, Emerald City and a field of poppies =)
I layered three different reds to represent the ruby slippers, and on my thumb and ring finger is the blue gingham of Dorothy's dress. Please excuse the mess around my cuticles!!!
The boy and I try to make it a point to get downtown and catch the sunset over the Mississippi River when we can...caught it just as it was dipping below the tree line!
How was your weekend?

Oz the Great and Powerful

Hello lovelies!
I just picked up the glitters from the OPI Oz the Great and Powerful collection (as I am a polish hoarder and a fiend for glitter, how could i resist?).

                                                       Lights of Emerald City
I love the square confetti in this, though I am a little disappointed that there isn't any green color to this one!
Which is Witch?
When Monkeys Fly!

Left to right: Lights of Emerald City, Which is Witch? When Monkeys Fly!

Swatched over OPI Vant to Bite My Neck

There are four other shades in the Oz collection- a sheer pink, a light pink, a nude and a bronze-y liquid sand.
I'm so excited that OPI is finally branching out into using different shaped confetti and glitter! So what do you think? Are any of these a must have for you?

Sea? I told you!

Hello lovelies!
I hope everyone had an awesome Vday! The boy and I shared some deeee-licious chocolate covered strawberries from Godiva...they were ahhhmazing!
My nail of the day today is Sea? I told you by OPI with Urban Outfitters' Sea Dust as an accent finger on my pinky.
The blue glitter in the UO polish matches Sea? I told you exactly! This combo reminds me of mermaids and the ocean. I've been obsessed with this color scheme lately....anything teal, seafoam, blue-green....I love it! Plus, both of these polishes have glitter, which is always a good thing. You can never have enough glitter!
I met up with my awesome friend and hairstylist this morning as the boy was way overdue for a haircut and I needed my color touched up badly... I had roots for miles!
Rockin' fresh hair and sea-inspired nails on this coooold Saturday! What's on your nails?

Happy Saturday!
I had a bit of a sweet tooth today, so I added a couple of tasty-looking treats to my Valentine's mani =)

Dreaming of cupcakes and sugar cookies......

Get your Polka on with Polka.com!

Hello lacquer lovelies!
I've been feeling a little under the weather lately so I wanted a cheery mani to brighten my mood a bit. I also wanted to do something for Valentine's Day just in case this mani lasts that long, and I was itching to use my new OPI glitter so the heart was made =).

The base color is Mint Candy Apple from Essie. I painted two coats of Blanc (a grown up version of the white out you used to paint your nails with in school...don't lie, you did it too! =P), also from Essie, to make M.C.A. really pop. For the heart on my middle finger, I used OPI's Polka.com. Polka.com is from the just-released Euro Centrale Collection and is made up of purple, blue and magenta hex glitter suspended in a clear base. There is also some microglitter in the same colors as the hex, though it's not overwhelming.

Here you can see the colors in Polka.com a little better.

What's on your nails? Planning on doing anything special for Valentine's Day?

NOTD: China Glaze Running in Circles

Hello lovelies =)
I love love love this emerald green glitter from the Cirque Du Soleil collection from China Glaze. It's what I imagine the Emerald City would've looked like if it was really green!

This is two coats of Running in Circles with one coat of Essie's Good to Go topcoat.  I think it really needs three coats for full opacity as you can still see my smile line a little.

I actually had Graffiti Glitter from the Bitz and Pieces collection in my hand until the boy spotted this gorgeous green lacquer. He insisted I get this one instead! I think my lacquer habit is a little contagious at times ;)

Happy Saturday everyone! What's on your nails?
